Annual medical checkups for eligible employees aged 40 and above are part of India’s evolving Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (OSH) framework. Indus Health Plus helps HR teams plan, coordinate, and manage employee health checkups across different locations. We also provide doctor-reviewed digital reports and structured programme reports to help organizations track their employee health screening programmes.
India’s four Labour Codes came into force on 21 November 2025. Under the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (OSH) Code, 2020, the Central Rules were notified on 8 May 2026.
A planned annual screening programme helps your company:
Many employees above 40 feel fine and assume they are healthy. However, some of the most common health conditions give no warning at first:
The "silent killer, damages vital organs for years without causing noticeable symptoms.
Can remain high long before symptoms appear, allowing complications to develop unnoticed.
May progress silently and become evident only after a serious event such as a heart attack.
Rarely causes symptoms in its early stages and is frequently detected only during routine health screening.
Without any warning signs, increasing the risk of heart disease and stroke.
Symptoms such as fatigue, weight changes, or mood disturbances are often mistaken for stress or aging, delaying diagnosis.
By the time symptoms appear, treatment is usually more complicated and more expensive. A yearly preventive screening is a simple way to avoid this.

OSH stands for Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions. The OSH Code, 2020 is part of India’s labour-law framework for workplace safety, health and working conditions.
The Labour Codes are four new laws that replaced 29 older central labour laws. They came into effect on 21 November 2025. The OSH Code, 2020 covers workplace health and safety, including annual health checkups. Its Central Rules were notified on 8 May 2026, and states are notifying their own rules.
Preventive screening can help identify common health risks that may not show obvious early symptoms. It also supports timely medical follow-up.
Most doctors advise a preventive health examination once a year after the age of 40.
After 40, the recommended screening tests include CBC, fasting blood sugar, HbA1c, lipid profile, liver and kidney function, thyroid profile, blood pressure, BMI, ECG, eye checkup and urine routine examination. Women may consider mammography, while men may consider PSA testing. Your doctor may also advise other tests based on your individual health risks. These include vitamin D and B12, cardiac markers and abdominal ultrasound.
