- What is the concept behind the INDUS HEALTH FRIEND CARD?
Stunningly, 80% Hospital Bills are paid by the Patient/User out of his/her own pocket and only 10% are covered by Employer Reimbursement and/or Government Health Insurance Schemes.
Health Insurance Schemes particularly do not cover pre-existing illeness.
Also, employer supported Medical Reimbursement Schemes in many cases do not cover the expenses of the employee’s and/or his/her spouse and parents.
Hospitals do not publicly announce and encourage discount schemes and at best it is offered on Preventive Health Plans and for Senior Citizens.
Low Utilization of Capacities and inability to leverage business streams from Diagnostics, Lab and Pharma are the key factors for high cost of healthcare, which make medium to high-end treatment in speciality unaffordable and beyond the reach of the common man.
More than 50% of the hospital infrastructure like high-end diagnostic equipments, lab equipments, operation theatres, etc. are idle from evening until next day morning, creating large idle capacity and adding the cost of healthcare.

What is the difference between Blue, Silver, Gold and Platinum Cards?
Blue Card

Blue card is the Entry Level Card, sold only through CD’s who have just joined Indus. We call them “EMPOWERED Indusites”.
An “AAM AADMI CARD” with reasonable and adequate discount/saving/benefits; it helps the buyer not only to get discount for him/her and family on their healthcare bills, but also allows him/her to buy a General Insurance Product.
The Blue Card is to “EMPOWER” the Indusites to sell/distribute/offer Blue cards to the public at large, including prospective Indusites.
The Cad is reasonably priced to make it affordable to all.
The Blue Card is meant for the PUBLIC at large.
Silver Card:

SIVER CARD IS A “LOYALTY CARD” AVAILABLE ONLY FOR “INDUSITES WHO HAVE TAKEN DELIVERY OF THE PREVENTIVE HEALTH PACKAGE PRODUCT. WE CALL THEM “INVALUALBLE INDUSITES”.
Silver Card is also available for select Corporates, through an arrangement/ agreement with Indus, wherein the corporate offers the Silver Card as “EMPLOYEE PREVILEGE CARD” to its Employees as an HR stategy and/ or as an Employee Friendly Measure.
Silver Card is also available for select Trade/ Business Entities, through an arrangement/ with Indus, wherein the Entity offers the Silver Card as “CUSTOMER PREVILEGE CARD” to its Cistomers, who have purchase a product/ service from it. As a sales promotion Stategy and/ or as a Customer Friendly Measure.
Silver Card is entitled to a discount structure, which is higher than that of blue Card.
THIS CARD IS NOT AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
Gold Card:

Gold card is an “EXCLUSIVE CARD” available only for Indusites as an EXCLUSIVE RIGHT for not only being an Indusite and taking delivery of the Preventive Health Package Product, but also RENEWING his/her Customer Distributorship at least once and being VALID/ACTIVE Indusite.
This Card comes bundled with an attractive FREE INPATIENT TREATMENT* facility for the Indusite and his/her family on a exclusive basis (* subject to terms and conditions.)
We call them “INCREDIBLE INDUSITES”
Gold Card has the highest discount structure.
This Card is NOT AVAILABLE to the General Public.
Platinum Card:

Platinum Card is a “PREMIUM CARD” available for the General Public, with the highest discount structure
The card is a boon, Where the existing healthcare spend of the prospective buyer is high and the saving on the Card far exceed the cost of the Card.
The Card is priced in a manner that SAVING/BENEFIT>COSTS.
The Card will be sold only through “SELECT INDUSITES”
This Card is available to the Public at Large.
- What is the Number appearing on the Card?
The Number which appears on the Card is the Unique Number of your Card which is captured in the bar code strip on the rear of the card. This number will tell us which Indusite has sold the Card to you, the validity of the Card, the type of Card ets. It will also help us activate the Card, when you call us and authenticate the Card, at the Indus Health Friend Help Desk at Sahyadri Speciality Hospital .
- What are the advantages of using this card/s?
Usage of these Cards at specified Healthcare Delivery Center/s i.e Hospitals, Laboratories, Diagnostic Centers, Nursing Homes, etc. will entitle you to discounts on the products/services which in turn result in substantial savings, thereby reducing your medical bills. MORE IMPORTANTLY, you are entitled to these discounts every time you see the Card, without any upper limit or cap and MOST IMPORTANTLY, you get reasonable discounts on Pharma/ Medicine/ Drug Purchases, which form a substantial part of a family’s expenditure.
By using the cards smartly and intelligently, (i.e Availing the MRI/ CT/ LAB tests between 9.00 pm to 6.00 am) you will get fantastic discounts which in turn result in HUGE SAVINGS, on your bills. After all, who wouldn’t mind coming at night, when it’s cool, less crowded, and with no impact on one’s regular working/ business hours or domestic/ personal activities!
- What are the advantages an INDUSITE enjoys?
An EMPOWERED INDUSITE enjoys the right to sell the BLUE CARDS and thereupon earn a reasonable income.
In addition, an EMPOWRED INDUSITE also enjoys the right to market General Insurance Products on behalf of INDUS and there upon earn a reasonable income.
An INDUSITE, in addition to the above, has the right to market the Indus ' Preventive Health Checkup Packages and earn a reasonable income. (Purely depending on performance).
The INVALUABLE INDUSITE, in addition to the above, also enjoys a higher discounts on the Silver Card he/she gets.
An INCREDIBLE INDUSITE, in addition to the above, also enjoys a higher discounts on the Gold card he/she gets. More importantly an INCREDIBLE INDUSITE is entitled to "FREE INPATIENT TREATMENT" for self and family*.
Interestingly, SELECT INDUSITES enjoy the exclusive PRIVILEGE of selling PLATINUM CARD, the PREMIUM CARD, to the premium segment of the society and earn a handsome income.
Most importantly, an INDUSITE is always most preferred by Indus for offering its products and services.
- What is the eligbility for acquiring/ possessing these cards? Do I need to submit an Application form, Income proof, Bank Statements etc.
For buying a Blue Card, you need to be 18 years of age, Other than this, there is no required of restriction. You need not submit any other documents . But then Indus always retains the right to decline a sale to a particular person, without assigning any reason.
For a Siver Card, you need to be an Valid/ Active Indusite, Who has purchased a preventive Health Checkup package and also taken delivery.
For a Gold Card, you need to be an Valid/ Active Indusite, who has renewed his/her Customer Distributorship at least once.
For buying a Platinum Card, you need to be 18 years of age. Other than this, there is no restriction. But then, Indus always retains the right to decline a sale to a particular person, without assigning any reasons.
- Where do I buy more Card/s for my family, friends and/or relatives?
The blue card and Platinum Card are available only through Indusites and are not available in the Market. Only an Existing /Valid Indusite can sell these cards. If you want to know more details, call you Indus Health Friend on the number mentioned on the Card pack/ card Holder or call Indus on 020-39502005/6.
- Does everyone in my family require one card each?
NO, one card suffices for you and your family. Consisting of you, your spouse, children, your parents and your parents and your spousse’s parents.
- Am I entitled to discounts on purchase of over-the-counter drugs and non-prescriptive drugs from the pharmacy, at the Healthcare Delivery Center?
YES, but please be advised, in exceptional conditions, on some of the drugs and items you purchase from the Pharmacy, the discounts may be lower than the indicated rate and / or not available. This may be only an exception, bear with us, since some changes in government rules, trade partices, maufacturer pricing policies, taxation changes and/or for reasons beyond our control, we may be constrained to do this. Kindly make an informed decision to purchase and check with us over telephone and at the help desk to avoid any issue.
- Can anyone use card? Is there any age restriction for using the card or availing the service?
Yes, Any member of your family, as described fully in question no 9. can use the card, Please remember that they have to physically present the card at the time of availing of the services, and also comply with the formalities of filling up a separate form and/ or any other formality as required by Indus.
NO, There is no age restriction, all persons who need healthcare, irrespective of age, caste, creed and religion can use this card and valid of the discounts.
However, please note that we will constantly monitor the usage of the card and take strict action in terms of canceling the card and/ or lodging a complaint with the law enforcement authorities, if the card is musused or used fraudently or with an intent to cheat or defraud.
- Does my doctor, Whilst prescribing the test/s and drugs need to know that have an Indus Health Friend card?
Not necessarily, unless he/she insists that you should ONLY purchase the medicines from a Particular Chemist and/or ONLY get the Tests done only from a Particular Diagnostic Center, and/ or ONLY go to a particular Hospital for getting treated,
In that case, you can confidently tell him that you are proud owner of the Indus Health Friend Card and that you are entitled to some fantastic discounts at Sahyadri Speciality Hospital to start with, and that you would prefer to purchase the medicines, undergo diagnostic tests and get treated at Sahyadri Speciality Hospital, by using the card any thereby NOT ONLY SAVE MONEY BUT ALSO GET BEST OF SERVICES, since the Hospital has the best and latest equipment like Multislice CT, 1.50 Tesla MRI etc.

Remember, a Doctor can only prescribe the medicines/tests/treatment, he/she cannot force you to get it done from a particular center, the CHOICE IS YOURS, EXERCISE IT WITH PRIDE, INDIS PRIDE.
- Can I use the Card the moment, I buy it?
The procedure is, a the time of purcase, when you receive the Card pack, you should have handed over the tearaway slip to the Indusite. On opening the card, you should sign on the signature strip on the rear of the card and call 020-39502005/6 mentioned on the rear of the card for activation, and lastly, you should quickly fill up the personal information form and mail it to us.
This will ensure you have complied with the pre-use conditions of the card. Once you have done this, you are free use the card, as per usage terms, which forms a part of the card pack.
- How do I get to know the normal rate for the services, the discount amount I am entitled to and the nett amount I need to pay on the services I require?
You have three options:

- Can I use this Card when I use my Health Insurance, CGHS, ESI, and Corporate Tie-up facility with Sahyadri Speciality Hospital?
NO, You can use this card only on payment through Cash/ Credit Card/Debit Card and not in conjuction with any other scheme or arrangement. This is a standalone scheme and cannot combined with any other offer or arrangement scheme.
- Do I need to authenticate every time I want to use the card?
At the Hospital, after validating the Card, you would get an authentication tag, to be produced at the “Dedicated Billing Counter” which bill you for all the services (excepting PHARMA). Hence all your billing can happen with one authentication tag.
For Pharma billing, you will be given a separate tag since the billing will be done at the Pharmacy tag.
If yor want to use the Card again after you’ve complete all the billing and you have used up your authentication tags, you will have to come again to the Desk and get more tags, Please understand that this is imperative in your own interest and also not to allow any misuse of the Card by unscrupulous people.
- It the Discount also available on the REGISTRATION CHARGES FOR IP and OP?
NO, The hospital Registration Charges is a very nominal amount, which is collected from everyone as a matter of policy and hence we felt that it would not be fair to ask for a discount on the same.
- Whom do I contact when I am unable to get through to the Telephone Numbers mentioned of the Card for any help require?
Not to worry, you can either contact us at INDUS , office on 020-25660222/0122/0133 or call your INDUS HEALTH FRIEND, from whom you purchased the Card. You will find his Contact Number on the rear of the Card Pack.
- How quickly do I get my Card after applying?
The Card is easily available without any application formalities. All you need is to pay and buy the Card. The Card is available with all INDUS HEALTH FRIENDS who will be too glad to help you in getting the Card. In case you are not able to access the INDUS HEALTH FRIEND, please call Indus office on 020-39502005/6 for help.
- I already have an Indus Health Friend Card; can I buy another Card?
You can. You can buy as many Cards as you want. But please remember only one Card will be accepted per bill.
- What is the rate of discount I get on the Indus Health Friend Cards?
Each type of card has a separate discount structure. The information is available separately in the Card Pack. Please go through the same and in case of any doubts, call the Indus Help Desk at Sahyadri Speciality Hospital 020-39502001/2.
We will not only be able to clear your doubts, but can also calculate the exact discount you are entitled for a given service and more importantly inform you the actual rate, the discount rate and the savings, before you even decide to come to Sahyadri Speciality Hospital.
- What happens if my Card gets lost/stolen?
Not to worry, please contact Indus on 020-39502005/6 and we help you to get a replacement on payment of a nominal fee and also ensure that your lost/stolen is deactivated so that no one else uses/misuses it.
- What is the maximum amount of products/ services I can avail of utilize/buy, through this card?
There is NO MAXIMUM LIMIT for the Expenditure you can incur. However, if it comes to our notice that the same Card is circulated and trated, resultant of which several unrelated people use the Card, to avoid purchase of Card and yet also ensure that no new Card is issued to you.
- How do I activate the Card?
SIMPLE, You just need to call 020-39502005/6 for activation, confirm your details, which you would have already entered in the tear-away slip at the time or purchase, and the Card will be activated. However please note that you will also have to send us the personal information form, forming a part of the Card pack, immediately.
- Will there be only ONE Delivery Partner?
To start with, there will be only one. It is better to start in one place, stabilize and streamline the operation and then get more delivery partners networked and enable the card to be accepted at several centers. However, Indus would be very choosy and select only a few Delivery Partners at each center, so that the volumes are routed to these centers, without getting too distributed. This will help in getting better discount rates for the card holders and also a WIN-WIN for both the Delivery partner and the Card Holder.
- What if I forget to carry my Card to the Delivery Center?
In the normal course, you will not be able to avail of any services, without presenting the Card. However, in case of emergency or inpatient admission, if you are able to convince us that you are a valid Card Holder, we may, at our sole discretion, let you avail of the services, provided that you present the Card within 24 hours, failing which, the services will be charged on actuals without any discount. Please note that we will make all efforts to help you, but you should understand that we cannot devite from the rules and regulations, beyond a certain point.
- Can One Hospital meet all my family's requirement?
YES, our current Delivery Partner, Sahyadri Speciality Hospital , is a super speciality hospital, spread over 1 lakh square feet, 13 floors, having state-of-the-art medical equipment, the best of doctors and most of the specialities that will meet your family's requirement.

NO, you are free to buy the Card, provided you are 18 years of age. Other conditions what so ever.
- What is the difference between Medical Insurance and this Indus Health Friend Card which offers Discounts?
This card is NOT A HEALTH INSURANCE CARD, DOES NOT OFFER ANY HEALTH INSURANCE COVER AND DOES NOT INTEND TO REPLACE INSURANCE.
Medical Insurance can only be offered by INSURANCE COMPANIES, Medical Insurance is a product for which you pay a premium ever year to protect yourself against hospitalization, which you may have to undergo.
In such a case, the Insurance Company will pay the hospitalization bills, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy.
Typically, Medical Insurance addresses the Hospitalization Expenses only, with limited period pre-hospitalization expenses covered, albeit with complex terms and conditions in fine print. These exclude diseases and ailments which are very expensive and have prolonged treatment period.
Health Insurance particularly does not cover pre-existing illnesses.
Typically, Health cover/s do not address persons aged above 55 and premium rates are steep to act as a deterrent, since the claim ratio is very high in this category.
Also, employer supported Medical Expenses reimbursement schemes do not cover the expenses of the employee's and/or his/her spouse/parents.
