  1. Medical Check-up by Doctor
A doctor takes your medical history into account and assess your basic heath profile.

  2. Exhaustive Laboratory Work-Up
This includes a set of tests that will ensure that you live a healthy life. These tests are helpful in providing valuable information about the state of your health. The tests include comprehensive analysis of blood and urine samples providing useful indications of a variety of ailments like diabetes, heart disease, kidney/ liver problems, cancer of the prostate and thyroid disorders.

For early diagnosis of onset of these diseases we conduct the following tests.

    • Haemogram details assessment of 18 vital parameters of blood.
    • Blood group testing – useful for receiving and donating blood especially in emergencies
    • Blood sugar testing for diabetes
    • Lipid profile for analysis of various types of fats in the blood extremely useful in forecasting heart disease.
    • Australia antigen to detect the presence of hepatitis B
    • SGPT / SGOT to gauge the performance of the liver
    • Blood urea and Serum Creatinine to assess the performance of the kidney
    • Urine test (routine & Micro) brings to light the presence of infection, especially in the kidneys and urinary tract
    • HIV (Optional)
  3. TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) Test
is measured as a screening test for abnormal thyroid function

Chemical Testing for Prostate Cancer * (Males)
Serum Acid Phosphatase indicates the presence of cancer in the prostate

  4. Chest X-Ray
This is a simple procedure that screens lungs and heart for diseases like tuberculosis, chronic asthma, lung cancer and enlargement of the heart. For a more detailed diagnosis, a PFT / Echocardiography is carried out.

  5. Pulmonary (Lungs) Function Test
The pulmonary (Lung) function Test is a series of easy – to – perform breathing exercises that give timely warning of the presence and severity of any lung disease. In order to take the test, you would be asked to avoid smoking or having a heavy meal four to eight hours before the test and also avoid using bronchodilators or other drugs for your lungs for 24 hours before the test. A mouthpiece will be inserted in your mouth and you will be asked to breathe in, hold your breath and breathe out.
This test helps evaluate the ability of your lungs to receive, hold and use air, it helps in detection of lung diseases which if detected, with the help of this test, monitors the curse of the disease and the effectiveness of the treatment adopted thus far. Alternative treatments can then be considered, if necessary.

  6. Total Body Fat Percentage
The human body is made up mainly of water with fat being the next largest percentage. The fat percentage is nothing but the percentage of body fat mass (the weight of the fat) in relation to your body weight. The rest of the body consists of proteins and carbohydrates in the form of muscles and minerals stored in your bones.

    Healthy Body Fat Range
Under 30 yrs. old Over 30 yrs. old
    Males 14 % -20% 17 % - 23 %
    Females 17 % - 24 % 20 % - 27 %
Source: Clinical Data obtained by Jikei university School of Medicine

In order to measure the body fat percentage, an extremely weak electric current is passed through the body. It is so weak that you do not even feel it. The body fat percentage and body fat mass are determined by the following calculation:

Body fat percentage (%) – Body fat mass (kg) ÷ Body weight (kg) x 100Bodyfat mass (kg) = Body weight (kg) fat – free mass (kg)

This method, of measuring, the electric resistance of the body, is called the bioelectrical Impedance (BI) method and it is one of the most accurate means of body fat analysis.

  7. Ultra Sonography of abdomen
An abdominal ultra sound users reflected sound waves to produce a picture of the organs and other structures of the upper abdomen. This helps to determine the condition of abdominal organs and detect gallstones and inflammation of the gallbladder, spleen and pancreas.

  8. Electro Cardiogram (ECG)
Electro cardiogram is a simple and routinely conducted test to assess electrical activity of the heart. An ECG shows changes that may be suggestive of reduced blood supply to the heart, whereupon, further investigations like stress test or angiography can be done.

  9. 2D Echo Cardiography (Doppler study of the heart)
The Colour Doppler Machine helps us study the function and structure of the arteries and veins supplying blood to various organs of the body, especially the brain, heart, lower limbs and abdomen. This test checks for blockages and determines the health of the arteries. The condition of the arteries can deteriorate due to a variety of factors like hereditary and unhealthy lifestyles.

  10. Gynaec examination
A lady gynaecologist would provide consultation to the ladies and will also conduct a detailed examination, teaching of simple methods to detect the presence of certain diseases along with general gynecological advice.

  11. Pap smear is a simple means to detect cervical cancer early. If detected, early cervical cancer can be completely cured.

    TVG Ultrasound
Transvaginal ultrasound is done to obtain a complete evaluation of the pelvic area. It is an important test to evaluate fertility concerns in females.
Transvaginal ultrasound, performed very much like a gynecologic exam, involves the insertion of the transducer after the patient empties her bladder. The tip of the transducer is smaller than the standard speculum used when performing a Pap test. A protective cover is placed over the transducer, lubricated with a small amount of gel and then inserted. The images are obtained from different orientations to get the best views of the uterus and ovaries.

  12. Screening Audiometry test
Loss of hearing is a gradual process and discernible to the person himself only at a rather late stage in life. Early detection of this defect can help initiate a variety of effective treatments.

  13. Sono Mammography
Sono mammography is ultra sonography of the breasts and is conducted to detect any lumps in the breast which maybe benign or cancerous. This screening test is done mainly to diagnose breast cancer and if coupled with X-ray mammography, it gives a good co-relation.)

  14. Ophthalmology Check-up
A routine eye check up is necessary to keep the eyes healthy and two detect the cause of any changes in vision. These tests help in taking timely corrective action especially in case of elderly people who can get timely warning of common problems like Glaucoma and cataract.

  15. a) CT Screening of lumber
    b) CT Screening / X- ray of cervical spine

Chronic low back pain is generally the most common complaint among the elderly as well as the general population. This screening process evaluates the condition of the lumbar and cervical spine for any need for physical / medical care.

  16. CT Calcium Scoring
Calcium in the vessel walls is a marker of the process called "ARTERIOSCLEROSIS" i.e. stiffening of walls of blood vessels due to calcium deposition. This stiffening leads to loss of normal elasticity of blood vessels This may further lead to multiple medical problems including heart attacks.
An Average calcium score upto 60 is considered to be permissible. Any score above this suggests higher risk of arteriosclerosis. Depending on the score, medical management can be started. If the calcium score is too high, CT coronary angiography has to be abandoned.

  17. CT Coronary Angiography (Heart)
A CT scan of the heart is done. This is the latest non-invasive technique of screening for anginal problems.
Angio means blood vessels and graphy means photography. What gives this scan the edge is its speed. Since the heart is never stationary, often a clear image is impossible to acquire, but this process makes it possible as it takes a picture in 0.4 seconds when the heart relaxes during a beat. The scanner computer uses the images to construct a 3-D image where blockages appear as they would once the heart is opened. The entire process is completely non-invasive painless and much faster than conventional processes like cardiac catheterization (angiography). )

  18. CT screening of Carotid Arteries (neck)
The technique is same as CT Angiography of intracranial vessels. This tells us the status of the blood vessels in the neck. If there is any abnormal narrowing of blood vessels or the inner lining of the vessels wall is rough/eroded, it can cause blood clots ultimately leading to paralytic attacks. By early detection, preventive measures can be taken to avoid complications.

  19. CT screening of Intra cranial Vessels
This test is similar to the above, a dye is injected thorough the vein and photographs of blood vessels are acquired as the dye moves though these blood vessels.
By doing this test, it allows us to take photographs of blood vessels and we pick up pathologies like, balloon like growth of the Vessel walls called Aneurysm, which burst and can cause brain hemorrhage. Unnecessary network of arteries and veins called ‘Arterio-venous malformation’ which again can lead to brain hemorrhage. Narrowing of blood vessels either due to calcium deposition or blood clot (thrombus) can lead to attacks of paralysis. Since this test is done after Coronary Angiography, Venous Phase is seen more clearly than Arterial Phase.

  20. CT Brain-contrast
Total acquisition time for a CT brain is 3 seconds. It gives us information about any pathology in the brain tissue like tumors in the brain, hemorrhage etc.

  21. Counselling by Doctor
you will get the added advantage of counseling session with an experienced physician who will not only discuss your problems, if any, but will also guide you as to what changes you may have to make within the framework of your lifestyle in order to make it more meaningful and enjoyable.

This will include an assessment of all the test reports and advice on methods to improve and maintain health. In addition, women can avail of a consultation with a gynecologist guiding them to a healthy lifestyle.

CT investigations are recommended for people above 35 yrs of age OR for people with at least one risk factor: Smoking, obesity, diabetes, dyslipaedimia (elevated cholesterol / Triglyceride levels), family history , stressful life style.

CT tests cannot be done if:
    1. Breath holding is less than 20 seconds.
    2. Heart rate is not steady and below 70 beats/min.
    3. If you have Asthma and Beta Blockers cannot be administered.
    4. If your Creatinine levels are found high.
    5. If you are pregnant or planning your pregnancy
    6. If you have any known contraindication for injection of contrast / Dye etc.
    7. if you have high calcium score (ASK DOCTOR)

CT Cardiac Angio results may be not given,
(Even after undergoing CT Angio Test).
    1. If you move while being scanned.

    2. If you do not hold breath while being scanned.

    3. If your heart rate suddenly shoots up while being scanned. (This may happen due to fear, anxiety etc.)
